Have I ever told you about my obsession with Sharpeis? You know, those awesome crinkly dogs? Mmmm, crinkly!!! Ok, so I don't want a dog (RYAN: I DON'T WANT A DOG), but I like other people's dogs a lot. Kind of like how I don't want a baby right now (RYAN: I DON'T WANT A BABY RIGHT NOW), but I really like other people's babies. Both dogs and babies require a lot of responsibility and attention and money that just isn't available from me right now. But hoooooooooo boy, dogs and babies are cute. Back to my Sharpeis. Ok, so I've got this weird thing where whenever I see one, I want to SQUEEZE IT and SCRUNCH UP MY HANDS IN ITS CRINKLY FACE!!! I'm not sure one would let me do that, but I'm working on it. You see, there's this lady in our development who has a Sharpei and some other dog. I got so excited when I saw them (this was actually the first sharpei I'd ever seen in person) that I literally gasped. So I slowly began building a relationship with the woman in the hopes that one day I could say hi to her dog, then pet her dog, then maybe cuddle her dog, then SCRUNCH HER DOG'S CRINKLY CRINKLY FACE!! I'm still enmeshed in this process. I've gotten to stage 2: petting the dog. The dog is apparantly named "Bogie," although I still refer to it with the name I will call all Sharpeis, "Sharpie." The other dog has a name too, and I'm sure so does the lady, but whatever. Sharpie was not as soft as I had imagined ... he was actually a little bristly, but oh man, those crinkles looked glorious. Unfortunately, it has been an entire summer since I've seen Sharpie and his entourage, so I fear I'll have to rebuild a relationship with them ... you know, talk to the lady, feign interest in the other dog ... before I can once again proceed with the scrunching attempt. But all will go well, my friends ... all will go well. I WILL have my scrunching. In other news, we're finally out of that cluttered, crazy apartment. Did I tell you about the Craptorium Annex we found in there?? No? Yikes. Ok, that'll have to wait for another day. I have to get a bunch of stuff done before the cable guy gets here.
