We found a kitty.

She actually followed Ryan home. I thought that only happened on 50's sitcoms. She just walked right in the door as if our apartment were her home.

We were immediately smitten and gave her some tuna fish, which was of course a bad idea, because then she was certain that our apartment was her home. We tried putting her back outside, but she hung around outside and the next time I opened the door, she just walked right back in. So then I picked her up and put her outside by the swings and ran back upstairs, but when Ryan went out to go for a run a few minutes later, she dashed in again.

She really can't stay. Really. She can't. She's totally freaking adorable ... and soooooooooo sweet ... and won't stop purring ... and has just decided that the right side of the couch is hers ... but she can't stay!! I'm super allergic to cats (they even make the roof of my mouth itch), and even though I'm hopped up on claritin, my nose is still running. She must belong to someone else. She doesn't have any collar or tags, but she looks quite healthy. OH MY GOODNESS, she's so CUTE!!! She really can't stay. Really. We're going to put up flyers tomorrow and if no one claims her, we'll try to give her away to friends/colleagues, and if no one wants her, we'll have to bring her to a shelter. She really can't stay. Really and truly, she can't! Really!

But for now, her name is Bea Arthur and she's sleeping on the couch.
