here are my least favorite insects:

1) spider crickets - they are seriously the ugliest things i've ever seen. imagine the creepiest bug you've encountered in your entire life, now multiply its scariness by 32, now make it 4 inches long, now add a bunch of twiggly things on its body, now make it jump at you. eew, eew, eew.

2) palmetto bugs - look, i don't care what kind of frilly name you give them, they're giant roaches. they're so big you can hear them walk. and they move FAST. at least they have the decency to be afraid of you, unlike the aforementioned spider cricket.

3) cicacas - an old standby. they mostly stay in the trees, which is good, but when they fall out, hoooo boy. they are seriuosly ugly. and humongous. and noisy.

4) millipedes - i think that's what they are. we usually just call 'em thousand leggers. good lord. also twiggly, also fast. not too many of them down here, but i've been scarred by enough of them to know they belong on my list.

4) mosquitos - evil, spindly, and they make me itchier than i am on a regular basis. not cool.

5) butterflies - what, just because it has pretty wings it's suddenly not a creepy giant big? i don't think so. as long as they're outside and not on me, i'm ok with them, but seriously, look at one of them close up and tell me it's not hideous.
